Privacy

We collect as little as we can get away with, and we never store your IP address or your browser string in a readable form.

What happens when you click a link to a store

We record that a click happened, which page and which button it came from, your country, your device type, and a one-way hash of your IP address and browser string. The hash lets us spot automated traffic without keeping anything that identifies you — we cannot reverse it, and neither can anyone who obtains it.

The store you land on sets its own cookies and has its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

Analytics and consent

Tracking cookies are set only after you consent. Declining is one click and the same size button as accepting — a consent banner that makes refusal harder than acceptance is a dark pattern, and we do not use one.

You are asked about two separate things, because they are two separate things. Click analytics is us counting which links get used; it stays with us and is described above. Advertising loads Google’s tag so we can tell which of our own ads brought you here.

The advertising one is the only case where anything about your visit reaches a third party. If you decline it, Google’s script is not loaded at all — not in a restricted mode, not to send an anonymous ping. If you accept it, Google receives that you visited and that you clicked through to a store, and applies its own privacy policy to it. You can be shown our ads again elsewhere.

The advertising question appears only when we actually have a tag installed. If you never saw it, there was nothing to ask about.

You can change your mind at any time. “Cookie choices” in the footer of every page reopens the same box with your answers in it. Withdrawing has to be as easy as agreeing was, and turning advertising back off also clears the cookies Google’s tag had set here.

Email

If you ask us to watch a price, we store your email address, the product, and your target price. You confirm by clicking a link in an email before we send you anything else, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. We do not sell or rent email addresses.
